Senior Chemist
Responsible for supporting multiple projects under limited supervision. Provide scientific expertise and ability to independently investigate and resolve analytical problems/issues. Write analytical method validation, verification, transfer and stability protocols and reports. Provide training and mentoring to chemists. May supervise chemists on project basis. Must maintain a high degree of flexibility to accommodate fluctuating priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise a small staff of chemists on project basis.
- Train laboratory personnel in the use of equipment and analytical techniques.
- Write, review and revise SOP’s, method validation, verification, transfer and stability protocols and reports as required.
- Develop/transfer and validate/verify analytical methods as necessary.
- Conduct analytical testing in compliance with applicable methods, protocols, SOP’s and regulatory agency guidelines.
- Maintain laboratory records per CGMPs regulations and in compliance with applicable SOP’s.
- Peer review data and reports in accordance with applicable Test Monographs, Protocols and SOP’s.
- Recognize deviations from normal results and inform VP, Quality Control & Development of any out of specification (OOS) results and/or deviations that may affect the integrity of the data and drive corrective action of problems.
- Review and revise laboratory systems on an ongoing basis.
- Other responsibilities as assigned by the VP, Quality Control & Development
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biology, or related sciences with 7–10 years of experience in a GMP-compliant pharmaceutical environment
- Master’s or Ph.D. in a relevant scientific field with 5–7 years of experience in a GMP environment.
- Advanced chromatography skills
- Strong hands-on experience with HPLC (High-Performance Liquid Chromatography) and GC (Gas Chromatography) equipment, including maintenance and troubleshooting
- Strong knowledge and experience in dissolution techniques
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and data acquisition software
- In-depth understanding of analytical methods, product specifications, and historical data
Ability to independently investigate and resolve analytical issues - Skilled in writing validation, verification, transfer, and stability protocols and reports
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to prioritize, multitask, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
Salary Range:
$70,000-$90,000
