HVAC and Maintenance Technician

Key Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced HVAC Technician to perform preventative, corrective, and predictive maintenance, as well as troubleshooting and servicing of commercial and industrial HVAC systems.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems, including refrigeration, electrical systems, controls, and sequence of operations. This individual should be able to perform testing and analyze equipment data to ensure proper operation and make recommendations to improve equipment reliability and performance.

 


The HVAC Technician will also serve as a team leader, providing training and coaching to apprentices and fellow technicians while maintaining a strong customer service mindset.

 

  • Perform preventative, corrective, and predictive maintenance on commercial and industrial HVAC systems.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and service HVAC equipment and systems.
  • Perform testing and analyze equipment data to verify proper system operation.
  • Identify potential equipment issues and provide recommendations to improve reliability and performance.
  • Understand and troubleshoot HVAC controls and sequence of operations.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Perform pipefitting.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date maintenance and service records.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, co-workers, and management, both verbally and in writing.
  • Serve as a team leader and assist with training and coaching apprentices and other team members.
  • Maintain a strong customer service focus and professional attitude.
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and applicable safety standards, including NFPA 70e and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) requirements.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5–10 years of HVAC experience, with daily hands-on experience working with commercial or industrial HVAC equipment and systems.

  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, including:

  • Basic refrigeration cycle

  • Electrical systems

  • HVAC controls

  • Sequence of operations

  • Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical and electrical HVAC issues.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics.

  • Knowledge and experience with pipefitting.

  • Ability to read, understand, and follow technical instructions, safety policies, and standard operating procedures.

  • Strong organizational and recordkeeping skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a team.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead, train, and coach apprentices and co-workers.

  • Strong customer service attitude and professional demeanor.

Education & Certifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of a trade school or HVAC apprenticeship program preferred.
  • EPA 608 certification — Type II or Universal.
