Qualifications and Skills:
- Must have a BS degree in Engineering or equivalent industry experience.
- Must have at least five years of experience in engineering layout and installation of capital equipment in GMP processing suites in the pharmaceutical, food or related processing industries.
- Must be proficient in Word, Excel, MS Project, and AutoCad.
- Experience with Revit is also preferred.
- Must be able to inspire and guide cross-functional teams toward project goals.
- Must be able to clearly convey expectations, updates, and technical details to all stakeholders.
- Must be able to quickly identify and resolve onsite and logistical challenges.
- Must be able to make timely, well-informed decisions under pressure.
- Must be able to adjust plans in response to changing site conditions or client needs.
- Must be able to prioritize tasks and resources to meet deadlines.
- Must have a strong attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
- Project management tasks including scheduling, budgeting, coordination and communications. Maintains project costs within budgetary limits and reporting status.
- Primary interface with customer representatives to resolve issues related to design, installation, schedule, cost and project status.
- Develops equipment and facility layout concepts with customer project teams including A/E firms.
- Provides process engineering and equipment layout, integration, and specification services for customer projects. Vendor equipment investigation, selection, price negotiation, coordination, and procurement efforts related to customer projects.
- Contractor interface including preparation and review of scope documents, job specifications, proficiency evaluation, price negotiations and contract terms and final selection for installation and construction services.
- Prepares and presents project quotations for submittal to customer.
- Analyzes and plans for installation of equipment and related construction activities.
- Hands-on management of on-site contractors regarding project performance, coordination and schedule concerns.
- Works with AutoCAD drawings during customer presentations and planning sessions.
- Examines and inspects work progress, equipment and construction sites to verify safety and ensure that the specifications are met.
- Provides oversight and project management of CAD designers, project engineers, and consultants on a project basis.
- Provides departmental leadership in the Manager’s absence.
- Conducts technical review of standard design specifications and details. Participates in monthly project reviews for technical and design concerns.
- Maintains proficiency consistent with improving job performance and upgrading technical expertise by reviewing literature, attending seminars, and interfacing with other organizations.
- Develops and encourages good interpersonal working relationships on a company wide basis.
- Keeps departmental management informed on a routine basis of all developments and problems as they occur.
